Monadnock Speedway Season Opener a Success

Monadnock Speedway Season Opener a Success

Winchester, NH: This past Saturday, Monadnock Speedway received the green light from the State of New Hampshire to host the 2020 Season Opener.  The race teams and fans were excited to finally get back to the track at the high banked ¼ mile.

First feature of the night was the Pure Stocks as Mike Douglas (Northfield, Ma) was the early leader.  Bruce Clark (Greenfield, Ma) was all over the back bumper of the Douglas machine as Sammy Silva (Alstead, NH) ran third.  Lap 17, a caution flew for Reagan Buffum (Surry, NH) for an overheating issue. On the restart, Douglas and Clark ran side by side as Douglas regained the lead. On the last lap, Clark  went to the inside of Douglas coming out of turn four and at the line, it was Clark for the win followed by Douglas, Silva, Damon Roy (Claremont, NH), JD Stockwell (Turners Falls, Ma). In a post race inspection, Clark was disqualified for a rules infraction with the win being rewarded to Douglas.

Worst to First, Griffith Prevails!

Worst to First, Griffith Prevails!

North Woodstock NH – Twenty-nine cars took the green flag for round two of the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model 2020 season at White Mountain Motorsports Park (WMMP) on a hot, sweltering day with temperatures in the mid to high 80’s. Starting dead last in the field was the familiar 12G of Derek Griffith. 150 grueling laps later, Griffith pulled off the very rare worst-to-first accomplishment to take home the checkers on the high banked oval. Chasing him across the line was Tamworth’s Jeremy Davis and teenager Gabe Brown to fill out the podium. Griffith was understandably pleased with the result.

FELLOWS, GREENSLIT, SABINS WIN AS FANS FLOCK TO CLAREMONT

By Gary Dutton

CLAREMONT, N.H. – Aaron Fellows won for the eighteenth time in a row, Dave Greenslit and Kodi Sabins each earned his second victory lap of the season, and for the first time this summer, fans flocked to Claremont Motorsports Park Friday, June 19, night.

Six Shooter kingpin Jeremy Blood also won for the second time in three outings Friday, and Desmond Skillings and Randy Burr were both victorious too, as the Thrasher Road speedplant – social distancing practices in place – opened its grandstands for the first time in 2020.

It wasn’t a Sonny-Fleury-back-in-the-day crowd but it was, none-the-less, a great turnout, as everyone came out to welcome racing back to the Twin State Valley. And nobody went away from Friday’s show disappointed, especially not Late Model Sportsman star Aaron Fellows.
