Tri Track Open Modified Series Announces Lucrative Purse & Awards For 2021

By Souza Media/Kyle Souza

SEEKONK, Mass. — Tri Track Open Modified Series presented by All Phases Renovations officials announced on Tuesday a lucrative purse structure and multiple special awards for each event for 2021. The base purse for each of the six events will total over $40,000, with an additional more than $1,000 in contingency awards available at each event. The series will also offer a point fund at the end of the season.

“With the help of some of our dedicated sponsors and the support we have received from Modified teams and fans we are happy to present the purse structure and some of our special awards for the new season,” Wayne Darling, Managing Partner of the Tri Track Open Modified Series, said. “We are looking forward to getting the season started in just a few weeks on May 1 at Monadnock Speedway.”

Each Tri Track Open Modified Series presented by All Phases Renovations event will pay a minimum of $6,000 to win. Seekonk Speedway’s Open Wheel Wednesday will pay $10,000 to win, just like it has for its previous 15 events. Additional opportunities for sponsorship are available to boost the winning purse for additional events.

Chase Dowling Has Full Tri Track Schedule in His Packed 2021 Season Plans

Chase Dowling Has Full Tri Track Schedule in His Packed 2021 Season Plans

By Souza Media/Kyle Souza

SEEKONK, Mass. — Former Tri Track Open Modified Series presented by All Phases Renovations winner Chase Dowling has the six events on the 2021 schedule circled on his calendar. Set to compete behind the wheel for Ben Dodge in the No. 9 that the team debuted last year, Dowling will be planning to chase the championship.

On top of Tri Track, Dowling plans to run select Open Modified races in New England — including the Stafford Motor Speedway Open Modified race and the Thompson 300. He will also run a full slate of dirt track events at Lebanon Valley Speedway, a full SK Modified schedule at Stafford, select NEMA Midget events, and maybe additional races, if possible.

“I’m not a firm believer that the more races you run the better you are — but in my specific situation — it’s good because I have the sponsors and crew guys behind me and I can focus on driving for most,” Dowling said. “It takes a lot out of you (to be running all of these races). I just have some good people behind it. You have to be in a good spot mentally, and allow yourself to reset for each race. You can’t let the night before transfer to the next day. Each race is a new race. I have to be on top of it as a driver.”

Chris Pasteryak Coming Back To Chase Tri Track Open Modified Series Title in 2021

By Souza Media/Kyle Souza

SEEKONK, Mass. — After a few years of traveling competing with his Modified, veteran racer Chris Pasteryak is primed to return home to full-time racing with the Tri Track Open Modified Series presented by All Phases Renovations this season. The Lisbon, Connecticut, driver will compete in his family-owned No. 75, returning in hopes of winning and contending for the championship.

Pasteryak’s season will also include the six Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park Outlaw Open Modified Series events and the four Stafford Motor Speedway Open Modified Series races — making up a busy schedule.

“Going back to where I have been before and it’s the right time because of the way the schedules worked out this year with Thompson, Tri Track and Stafford,” Pasteryak said. “Between the three, you can run 16 or so times for really good purses, at good tracks.”

Tri Track Open Modified Series presented by All Phases Renovations teams will compete twice each at Monadnock Speedway (May 1 & August 14), Star Speedway (May 22 & July 24) and Seekonk Speedway (June 30 & October 23). Pasteryak went to victory lane in Tri Track competition in May of 2015 at Lee USA Speedway, but has since been shutout. He took the last three years to focus on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, where he scored two top-five finishes. He visited over 12 different tracks during the span, a variety of flat and banked surfaces, and the experience should help in his return.

Cam McDermott Balancing Variety of Roles in Search of Success with Tri Track in 2021

Cam McDermott Balancing Variety of Roles in Search of Success with Tri Track in 2021

By Souza Media/Kyle Souza

SEEKONK, Mass. — Whether it’s been as a crew chief, spotter, driver, mechanic or in another role, Cam McDermott has built quite the resume in short-track racing. He started his career driving in quarter midgets, quickly moved to the Thompson Speedway Modified division, where he won the championship — and from there, his career has blossomed in a variety of different directions.

For 2021, McDermott is going to be quite the busy guy once again — but his preparations for the season includes getting the No. 8 Maybury Material Handling machine ready for competition in the six Tri Track Open Modified Series events. McDermott will be behind the wheel of the family-owned machine to join a talent-filled group of competitors on the Tri Track circuit.

“We’re mainly going to focus on the Tri Track stuff this year, transitioning into that after focusing on the Stafford Motor Speedway Open Modified races the last few years,” McDermott said. “The competition with Tri Track is always great. I want to go out there and compete against the best — I love doing that. On the ownership side of Tri Track, with what Wayne (Darling) and Ed (Bennett) are doing, it’s good for the racers and the teams.”

SAM RAMEAU LOOKS TO TAKE TRI TRACK TITLE IN 2021

SAM RAMEAU LOOKS TO TAKE TRI TRACK TITLE IN 2021

BY SOUZA MEDIA/KYLE SOUZA

SEEKONK, Mass. — Sitting behind the wheel, or behind the desk, Sammy Rameau seems to get the job done successfully. The 18-year-old, Westminster, Massachusetts, native is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology, with a double-minor in Environmental and Business Management. When he’s not at school, he competes at speeds over 100 mph in his Tour-Type Modified, a 600-horsepower, ground-pounding machine, racing inches apart from his competitors.

Whether it’s the Dean’s List in college, or Victory Lane on the track, Rameau finds time to do it all. His most recent racing success came at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, New Hampshire, in August of 2020, when Rameau celebrated a victory in the Tri Track Open Modified Series feature, against some of the top talent in the Northeast. The 100-lap race marked a major high-point in Rameau’s career, especially since earlier in that day in practice runs, he crashed after suffering a flat tire. The team rebounded, put the car back together, and Rameau drove it from the rear of the field to the victory.

“A few years ago I won at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway and Lee USA Speedway back-to-back races, and that was super special,” Rameau said. “But the win at Monadnock was cool because I’ve been going there since I was three, watching my dad at the races. Racing against guys like Matt Hirschman, Ronnie Williams and Ron Silk — those are guys that win all the time. To beat them, it was cool. I saw my dad and all of my crew standing there in Victory Lane and I just broke down. It was super emotional.”

NEW HAMPSHIRE STANDOUT HOPES TO BE CONSISTENT IN 2021

BY SOUZA MEDIA/KYLE SOUZA

SEEKONK, Mass. — When the Tri Track Open Modified Series season takes the green flag on May 1 at Monadnock Speedway, the field will be stacked full of talent. One of the talented stars is rising New Hampshire racer Matthew Kimball, who is a former Mini Stock champion and currently a competitor in the Sportsman Modified division at multiple tracks in the Granite State.

Kimball, who does have limited starts with Tri Track, is hoping to be able to run the entire six-race slate in 2021. His most important goal will be to be consistent, learn more about the Tour-Type Modifieds, and come home with solid top-10 finishes. He also plans to compete full-time at Monadnock in the Apex Racing No. 11 in the track’s Sportsman Modifieds and hopes to chase the NASCAR Division I National Championship, if the first few weeks of the season go well.

“It’s always good to try and get your name out there and this is a great opportunity to do that,” Kimball said. “We want to win races, but we are going to go race-by-race, and see what the schedules look like, so we don’t have conflictions. We’re going to take this year step-by-step. We would like to finish top-10 in the Tri Track points.”

Kimball, who won the Mini Stock title at Monadnock in 2018, started his career in go-karts, and moved to the Mini Stocks at the age of 13. From there, he sat behind the wheel of a modified at full speed for the first time at age 15, and the experience was different from anything he had dealt with before — but he found success quickly.
