New England race fans have endured back-to-back weekends of wet weather. This weekend’s promise of thunder in the hills of western New Hampshire, however, is far more welcome.

Monadnock Speedway opens its gates and grandstands on Saturday for the second Duel at the Dog Weekend, with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour anchoring an action-packed lidlifter at the Winchester, N.H. oval on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7.

NASCAR’s only open-wheeled division is one of a baker’s dozen of feature races spread out over two days at the track dubbed “Mad Dog.”

Mayhew Tools 7NY Ready For Round Three of NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Season

MILFORD, Conn. – Starting a stretch of four races in four weeks, Monadnock Speedway’s Duel at the Dog 200 is on deck for Doug Coby. The Mayhew Tools, Tommy Baldwin Racing No. 7NY returns to competition on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour this Saturday, May 6 with 200 laps in the Duel at the Dog. 

It’s the third Whelen Modified Tour race of the season for 2023. Coby and the team finished fifth in the opener at New Smyrna in February, leading 106 laps and 13th at Richmond Raceway in March, leading 27 laps, sidelined from a chance to win with a mechanical issue in the final laps.

Barre, VT — As part of a reimagined opening weekend for the 64th season of stock car racing at Thunder Road International Speedbowl, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) invades the Green Mountain State for an opening weekend spectacular. The PASS Super Late Model 150 headlines the Saturday night program on May 6th along with the Kennebec Equipment PASS Modifieds and the R&R Race Parts Open Street Stock Series to bring a host of New England invaders into Thunder Road prior to Sunday’s 25th Annual Community Bank N.A. 150 for the American-Canadian Tour. 

With four events already in the books, the PASS Super Late Model championship season is well underway coming into Thunder Road. Defending Oxford Plains Speedway champion and current Kulwicki Driver Development finalist Max Cookson comes to the Granite Capital of the World with the early lead in the PASS National standings while current PASS North point leader Eddie MacDonald is notably absent from the entry list as of press time on Tuesday.
