(Halifax, NS, August 13th, 2016) – Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) took home his second Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour win of the season Saturday night in fashion, winning the prestigious Atlantic Cat 250. Butcher took the lead on lap 42 and battled with Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) and 2013 Cat 250 winner Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) for the remainder of the 250 laps. Slaunwhite would finish second, ahead of Proude, who fought suspension issues with his car from early in the Atlantic Cat 250. Five-time Series champion John Flemming (Halifax, NS) finished fourth in his second start of the season, ahead of Russell Smith Jr (Lakeside, NS) in Daryl Mahar’s (Hubley, NS) #66 car.

2016 Série ACT Schedule Announced

Waterbury, VT – American-Canadian Tour (ACT) officials have officially announced the 2016 Série ACT schedule. The Quebec-based Late Model Tour will run an eight-race schedule at three different tracks from May through September.
The season will get underway on Saturday, May 21 at Autodrome St-Eustache. The 100-lap event is the first of three visits to the 1/3-mile speedway in 2016. The series will have another 100-lap event at St-Eustache on Saturday, July 9 and a 150-lap event on Saturday, August 20.

Ste-Croix, QC – Hudson, NH’s Joey Polewarczyk Jr. turned an early setback into an opportune moment en route to winning the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Can-Am 150 at Ste-Croix, QC’s Circuit Riverside Speedway on Saturday, August 22.
“Joey Pole” was involved in an incident with Martin Goulet Jr. and Brandon Atkins on lap 18 of the 150-lap event and pitted for two tires and adjustments during the resulting caution. After driving back up to third on the track, Pole inherited the lead when leaders Wayne Helliwell Jr. and Jean-François Déry pitted under caution with 44 laps remaining.

Therrien Takes Surprise Northern Modified Challenge Series Win at Airborne
SOUTH PLATTSBURGH, NY – Bobby Therrien gave the northeastern stock car racing world a bit of a surprise on Sunday afternoon by winning the 50-lap Northern Modified Challenge Series event at Airborne Park Speedway. Typically a top performer in full-fender Late Models on the American-Canadian Tour, Therrien held off the field to win in his first open-wheel start of the season.

As the sanctioning body prepares for its fourth season, teams and fans alike can begin making their plans.
Technically, since ECS picked up where the former regional circuit (RMR) left off, this is the 23rd consecutive season for sanctioned snocross here in the northeast. RMR held its first races during the winter of 1991-92, and since that time – the sport has advanced by leaps and bounds.

CENTRE FOR SPEED PROVIDES ACCESS FOR ELDERLY FANS AND OTHERS
June 6, 2013 – CFS is pleased to announce improved access for fans of all ages via its new “Drive-In” zone for Fans. This area is designed for elderly and physically challenged fans who otherwise would have difficulty in attending the races. In the Drive-In Zone fans with disabilities and those over 65 can drive their car, half ton, or van up to the fencing and, without having to leave the comfort of their own vehicle, watch the races. In addition, fans can tune into the CENTREs announcers on their own FM radio via the speedways new FM Radio Station Transmitter so no matter how loud the motor sport, the fans can hear the announcers commentary! To access the Drive-In Zone, fans must enter thru the Pit Pass entrance. A pit pass and proof of age or physical ailment is required. A season pass for the Drive-In Zone is available, at a reduced cost, for those who are eligible. Spaces are limited and on a first come basis.
