Barre, VT – Thunder Road officials, in conjunction with Speedway 51 powered by the Autosaver Group in Groveton, NH, have finalized the Twin State Street Stock Series for 2018. The 4-race “home-and-home” series will feature the top drivers from Thunder Road’s Allen Lumber Street Stocks, Speedway 51’s Caron Auto & Truck Repair Street Stocks, and other 4-cylinder racers from throughout Vermont and New Hampshire.
The series will open on Thursday, June 21 with a 50-lap event at Thunder Road as part of North Country Federal Credit Union Night. For the second event, the Twin State Series will head to Speedway 51 on Saturday, July 7 for the Jake McDowell Memorial 75.
Davis, Griffith & Shaw Thrill Claremont fans in a Classic Twin State 100 finish!!
The Twin State 100 saw some new drivers on the roster adding to the variety seen in all of the GSPSS races started this year. George Bessette of Danbury, CT., Tommy O’Sullivan, of Wilbraham, MA., and local racer Jimmy Zullo of Claremont, NH all added their names to the list of already competitive list of drivers running.
Last years winner Derek Griffith and newcomer to Claremont, DJ Shaw set the pace early in the day, both attaining 13.9 lap times in practice. Mike O’Sullivan of Springfield, MA. and Bill Ahern of Bellerica, MA. started on the front row. Guy Caron of Lempster, NH took an early lead, showing his knowledge of the track. Griffith, Shaw, and Davis quickly made their way through the pack to the top five in the early laps of the race. Caron led for twenty-five laps until the first caution flew for Glenn Martel as he spun in turn two.

Loudon, NH – For the second consecutive year, Auburn, Maine’s Travis Stearns will lead the 43-car Bond ACT Invitational field to green at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH on Saturday, September 20. East Montpelier, Vermont’s Emily Packard will start to his outside in the front row of the star-studded field. Glen Luce of Turner, Maine, Larry Gelinas of Buxton, Maine and Brandon Atkins of Au Sable Forks, New York will all start in the top five.
Small Team Nets Big Results In Season Opener
Aaron Fellows returned to his stomping grounds at Twin State Speedway on Saturday night and claimed a pair of feature wins, most notably a wire-to-wire effort in the 40-lap Late Model main event.
Fellows, of Coydon, N.H., is a multi-time track champion at Twin State.
“Being the small, family team that we are, it’s nice to be able to go out and do what we do like that,” said Fellows, 32, who also won a 35-lap Modified feature Saturday at the track while driving for a different car owner.
